Ravindra Kolhe

Ravindra Kolhe serves as Professor and Department Chair of Pathology at Augusta University's Medical College of Georgia, holding the Leon H. Charbonnier Endowed Chair while concurrently serving as Associate Dean for Research and Associate Director of Genomics at the Georgia Cancer Center. His academic leadership spans molecular diagnostics, cancer cytogenetics, and clinical genomics implementation.

His educational credentials include an MBBS from Mahatma Gandhi Mission's Medical College (2001) and a Ph.D. in Biology from Mississippi State University (2006), complemented by Georgia State Medical Board certification (2012).

Dr. Kolhe's research pioneers optical genome mapping (OGM) for hematological malignancies, demonstrating superior structural variant detection compared to conventional karyotyping. His work integrates NGS and bioinformatics to advance precision oncology, with emphasis on acute myeloid leukemia and myeloproliferative neoplasms. He leads multi-center validation studies establishing OGM as a clinical diagnostic standard.
