Valentina Nardi, MD is an Associate Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School and serves as Associate Director of Hematological Molecular Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). She is a core faculty member in the Department of Pathology and Center for Integrated Diagnostics (CID), advancing personalized medicine through molecular diagnostics for hematological malignancies and solid tumors.
Dr. Nardi earned her MD from the University of Genoa Medical School, completed pathology residency at MGH, and pursued specialized fellowships at Boston Children's Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, MGH, and University of Genova. She holds board certifications in Hematopathology, Molecular Genetic Pathology, and Anatomic Pathology.
Her research focuses on molecular characterization of rare solid tumors and myeloid neoplasms to identify targetable genetic drivers and resistance mechanisms. Key interests include therapeutic resistance in hematological malignancies, genetic alterations in solid tumors, novel diagnostic/prognostic biomarkers, and development of clinical molecular assays using next-generation sequencing and FISH technologies.
Within the CID's CLIA-certified laboratory, Dr. Nardi contributes to clinically actionable diagnostics through NGS-based tumor profiling, RNA fusion detection, and gene copy number analysis. The CID accelerates personalized medicine by delivering rapid molecular diagnostics to guide targeted therapies and clinical trial enrollment for cancer patients.
