Associate Professor Ratilal Lalloo is an academic and researcher in Dental Public Health at the University of Queensland's School of Dentistry, part of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences. He holds additional roles as Director of Teaching and Learning (2020–2024) and has previously served as Higher Degree Research Director (2016–2019). He is an Adjunct Professor at the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health (University of Adelaide) and held a Professorship at Griffith University (2014–2019). His qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Dental Public Health from University College London.

His work spans Africa, Australia, and Sri Lanka, addressing topics like rural/indigenous oral health, antibiotic resistance, mental health oral care, and policy development.
Research Impact: Lalloo's studies on student clinical placements in rural Australia have influenced national dental education policies. His collaborations with Sri Lankan colleagues integrated oral cancer screening into national programs. His Global Burden of Disease (GBD) contributions inform global health policies. Current projects involve Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer’s oral health impacts, and partnerships with Queensland’s Oral Health Alliance.
