Peter Arrow

Peter Arrow is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia (UWA), based in the Dental School within the Oral Developmental and Behavioural Sciences department. His research focuses on pediatric dentistry, oral health disparities, and preventive dental care, particularly among Indigenous and Aboriginal communities in remote areas. He has contributed to studies on cost-effectiveness of dental treatments, motivational interviewing for caries prevention, and the impact of enamel defects on primary teeth.

He leads the NHMRC-funded project 'The use of Silver Fluoride and Teledentistry to manage and prevent childhood dental decay among Aboriginal children in remote communities (2024–2029)', aiming to improve access to dental care through innovative methods. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health equity and quality education.

Key research themes include dental caries management, health economics, and oral health-related quality of life assessment. He has published 44 peer-reviewed articles and actively collaborates with multidisciplinary teams in Australia and globally.
