Rathi Ramji is a Senior Lecturer at Malmö University's Faculty of Health and Society, Department of Nursing Sciences. She is a dentist from India who holds a PhD in health sciences and has been actively involved in research projects related to health promotion, mental health, and oral health.
Dr. Ramji's research focuses on several key areas:
- Health promotion and preventive medicine, particularly through the "Health Promotion Innovation in Collaboration" project funded by Vinnova
- Mental health and well-being among young people and children
- Oral health initiatives
- Participatory approaches to research, especially with children living in socially deprived areas
- Community-based interventions addressing health disparities
- Women's health following physical activity interventions
Her recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on developing and validating research instruments for measuring professional governance and quality of life, as well as implementing community-based participatory research approaches to address health inequalities. Much of her recent work has examined the impact of the pandemic on health outcomes and interventions, with particular attention to vulnerable populations in Southern Sweden.
Dr. Ramji is affiliated with the Citizen Health research center at Malmö University, which focuses on improving public health and health equity. Her collaborative work spans multiple disciplines and involves partnerships with researchers across various departments at the university.
