Margareta Rämgård is an Associate Professor at Malmö University’s Faculty of Health and Society, Department of Nursing Sciences. With a PhD in Human Geography (health focus) and dual qualifications as a nurse and midwife, she bridges clinical practice with academic research.

Her research integrates social and cultural contexts into health outcomes, particularly for migrant populations and elderly care. Recent projects include health-promoting interventions for diabetes prevention and medication literacy among Arabic-speaking women, funded with ~25 million SKR. She leads international networks like SPARC and ICPHR, and contributes to CARN.
Her methodological innovations focus on empowering marginalized groups through co-created solutions in urban environments, with future work expanding Nordic citizen participation frameworks starting in 2024.
