Liselotte Paulsson serves as an Associate Professor at Malmö University's Faculty of Odontology, where she holds dual qualifications as a dental specialist in orthodontics (D.D.S, Odont. Dr.). Her interdisciplinary work bridges clinical orthodontics with educational research, focusing on evidence-based approaches to dental care and instruction.
Her primary research interests include evidence-based orthodontics with emphasis on intervention research and side effects through randomized clinical trials, orthodontic treatment needs for prematurely born children including craniofacial morphology and function, dental education pedagogy, and sustainability integration in dental education (Agenda 2030). Her work demonstrates significant contributions to understanding treatment effects for crowded and displaced teeth, external apical root resorption, and pain management during orthodontic procedures.
Dr. Paulsson is actively involved with the Sustainable Digitalisation Research Centre and the Advancing Oral Health research profile at Malmö University. Her recent publications reveal a strong focus on methodological rigor in clinical orthodontic research, with multiple multi-center randomized controlled trials examining treatment outcomes, imaging techniques, and patient experiences.
Her collaborative research spans multiple Swedish institutions, as evidenced by her work with Karolinska Institutet on licensure examinations for foreign-trained dentists. She employs advanced imaging techniques including CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) and multiplanar reconstruction in her clinical investigations.
