Rashida Ng is Presidential Associate Professor of Architecture and Chair of Undergraduate Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania's Weitzman School of Design. Her research investigates social equity, environmental justice, and racial disparities in housing and design practices.
Ng's scholarship analyzes how architectural education perpetuates inequities, advocating for pedagogical reform. Previous work explored responsive materials and sustainable technologies, including phase-change façade systems and light-based installations.
Professional leadership includes serving as 2019-2020 President of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA). Editorial work addresses the future of architectural education and student experiences.
Creative practice includes 'Cloud Magnet' installations in Costa Rican cloud forests and 'Firefly' phosphorescent shelters, merging ecological engagement with material innovation.
