Rasha Abdulla is a Professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at The American University in Cairo (AUC), where she previously served as department chair. Her research focuses on new media effects, media transition, social media mobilization, public sphere dynamics, and freedom of expression.
Her academic career includes teaching roles at the University of Miami, Georgia State University, and Portland State University. She has provided consultancy services to UNESCO, the Carnegie Foundation, IREX, and Open Society Foundations.
