Rasa Smite

Rasa Smite is a Lecturer affiliated with MIT's School of Architecture + Planning within the Art, Culture, and Technology Program (ACT). She specializes in interdisciplinary art-science practices, focusing on techno-ecologies, renewable energy, and immersive installations. Her work bridges art, science, and technology through projects like Atmospheric Forest (2020), which visualizes climate change impacts on forests, and Pond Battery (2015), exploring microbial energy systems. Smite co-founded RIXC, a Latvian art-science center, and has curated exhibitions such as Fields (2014) and contributed to festivals like Ars Electronica.
