Patrick Borgeat is a Researcher and doctoral candidate at the Institute for Music Informatics and Musicology at the University of Music Karlsruhe. He specializes in creative coding, live visuals, and immersive environments, combining artistic performance with technological innovation. As a lecturer, he contributes to academic programs while maintaining active roles in live coding events and multimedia collaborations.
His education includes studies in Music Informatics at the University of Music Karlsruhe. Research focuses on interactive media, live coding practices, and the intersection of music, technology, and visual art. Notable collaborations include work with the live-coding ensemble Benoît and the Mandelbrots and audiovisual band Ganzfeld.
Borgeat has performed and exhibited extensively across Europe, including at ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Ars Electronica, and SuperCollider Symposium. His work spans silent film dubbing, festival performances, and interdisciplinary projects like ARquatic (with Anne Veinberg and Felipe Ignacio Noriega) and Vox Populi (with Causa Creations).
Awards include an Honorary Mention at Prix Ars Electronica (2012) and a Honorable Mention at Visual Music Live Competition (2015). Since 2015, he has also worked as a software developer at the Max Reger Institute in Karlsruhe-Durlach.
