Raquel Vaz Pinto

Raquel Vaz Pinto serves as a Researcher at the Portuguese Institute of International Relations (IPRI) of NOVA University Lisbon and holds a Visiting Associate Professor position at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, where she teaches Asian Studies and the History of International Relations. She previously led the Portuguese Political Science Association (2012-2016) and consulted for the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (2020-2022), and currently acts as resident international politics analyst at SIC Notícias.

Her research examines the societal, political, and economic impacts of technological evolution; contrasts Technological Sovereignty against dominant tech conglomerates ('Magnificent 7'); analyzes Citizenship and Digital Literacy frameworks; and investigates semiconductors' critical role in reshaping 21st-century geopolitical landscapes and cognitive mappings.
