Raphael Haumont is a Professor at the University of Paris-Saclay, affiliated with the Institute of Molecular Chemistry and Materials of Orsay (ICMMO) and the SP2M research team. He holds a joint appointment as an Associate Researcher at CentraleSupelec’s Structure, Properties and Modeling of Solids (SPMS UMR CNRS 8580) laboratory. His research focuses on crystal growth under electric fields, ferroic perovskites, and structural analysis using techniques like DRX and neutron scattering. He has pioneered studies on energy recycling via piezoelectric crystallogenesis (ANR JCJC RECIPE grant, 2015).
- Academic Qualifications: Habilitation (2014), PhD from École Centrale Paris (2004)
- Interdisciplinary activities include molecular gastronomy, co-founding the French Center for Culinary Innovation (CFIC-UPSud), and holding the “Cuisine of the Future” chair since 2013.
Research interests span experimental and theoretical studies of ferroelectric oxides, domain wall physics, and functional materials for energy applications. His work bridges materials science with culinary innovation, featuring media engagements (TV columns, science festivals) and public outreach.
