With 20 years of industrial experience as a lead engineer for energy control and optimization systems, he bridges practical engineering applications with academic instruction in power systems and renewable energy.

Dr. Chakravarty's research centers on power generation economics and control systems, with 20 years of industrial expertise in energy conservation for process industries and thermal/hydrothermal power system optimization. His current work focuses on integrating renewable energy sources into existing power grids, addressing technological, economic, and sustainability challenges in energy transition. He teaches graduate courses including Renewable Energy Generation (ETLS 748), covering thermal, hydro, nuclear, solar, and wind power systems alongside energy storage and transmission analysis.
