Ranier Reyes, M.D., is a Clinical Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center, affiliated with the Department of Neurology. He joined in 2020 and serves as Program Director of the Neurocritical Care Fellowship. His clinical practice focuses on neurosciences in intensive care units at Clements University Hospital and Parkland Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Reyes graduated with a B.S. in Neuroscience from Baylor University (Waco, TX), earned his M.D. from McGovern Medical School (formerly UT Houston Medical School), completed neurology residency at Baylor College of Medicine (serving as Chief Resident), and finished a Neurocritical Care Fellowship at UT Southwestern. He is certified in simulation instruction, Board-certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology, and ACGME-certified in Neurocritical Care.
His research and clinical interests include cerebral edema management, brain death determination protocols, and advancing medical education through simulation technology. He emphasizes mentorship and leadership development in trainees, aiming to cultivate compassionate clinicians and academicians.
As an educator, he prioritizes wellness initiatives and interdisciplinary collaboration within neurosciences. His professional affiliations include key roles in neurology and neurological surgery departments at UT Southwestern.
