Rania Alkhadragy is a Lecturer in the School of Medicine at the University of Dundee, affiliated with the Centre of Medical Education. She transitioned from medical practice to academia after completing her MBChB (2006), Master in Medical Education, and PhD (2016) at Suez Canal University. Her research focuses on Technology Enhanced Learning, Artificial Intelligence in education, and creative pedagogical approaches. She has held leadership roles including Associate Professor at Suez Canal University and currently serves as a board member of the Egyptian Society of Medical Education.
Education background includes a PhD thesis on blended learning integration in medical education, followed by post-doctoral work at Leeds Institute of Medical Education on clinical skills e-book development. She has supervised multiple students across undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD levels, focusing on professional identity development and online curriculum design.
Research highlights include leading a global study on gamification in medical education and contributing to a maternal health initiative addressing post-pandemic inequities. She has pioneered projects like the “Break the Stigma” mental health campaign and co-led the Maternal and Infant Health study with University of British Columbia. Her work aligns with UN SDG 4 (Quality Education) and 3 (Good Health).
Teaching responsibilities include leading the Master of Medical Education Programme’s Learning and Teaching module, supervising dissertations, and co-chairing PhD admissions subcommittees. She is a Fellow of Advance HE and has received awards for leadership in medical education.
