Rachel Lindley is a Senior Lecturer in Medical Education at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the Division of Medical Education within the School of Medical Sciences. She is also a General Practitioner at The Arch Medical Practice since 2004. Her roles include leading the Community Based Medical Education team, overseeing clinical placements, and contributing to the MBChB programme's curricula on patient safety, diversity, and prescribing.
Qualifications include MBChB, MRCGP, MSc in Medical Education, DFFP, and DRCOG. Her teaching focuses on clinical communication, feedback, health inequalities, and active learning strategies. Research interests revolve around student learning experiences in community settings, identity formation, and patient narrative analysis. She collaborates on projects addressing concerns in clinical placements and inclusivity in medical education.
Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education and good health. Key projects include the Health Workforce Group (as Co-Investigator) and a dataset on non-English language consultations in medical training. She has published on quality assurance in medical student placements and continues to advocate for inclusive educational practices.
