Dr Alison Brown is a Senior Clinical Lecturer and General Practitioner based at the University of Leeds, School of Medicine. She holds key roles including managing the MeDIC introductory course for Year 1 MBChB students, leading the IDEALS strand in the MBChB program, and serving as ICU Manager for the Campus to Clinic Year 1 initiative. Her expertise spans primary care education, student transitions, medical professionalism, and leadership development.
Qualifications include an MBBS (Hons with Distinction) from the University of Newcastle (1998) and an MSc in Education in Primary Care (2015). Professional memberships include the Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP, 2003) and Fellowship (FRCGP, 2012).
Research interests focus on enhancing medical education, particularly in clinical placements, quality assurance, and integrating medical humanities into professional development. She has 15+ years of experience teaching undergraduate medical students in primary care settings.
Leadership contributions include spearheading initiatives on lifelong learning, patient safety, and fostering innovation in medical training. Currently affiliated with the Academic Unit of Primary Care, she actively contributes to curriculum design and student support systems.
