Randolph Pearson, MD, is a Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and serves as the CHM Assistant Dean for Graduate Medical Education at Michigan State University (MSU). He holds roles as Senior Associate Director of the Sparrow/MSU Family Medicine Residency Program and Designated Institutional Official for MSU-CHM-sponsored residency/fellowship programs. His administrative portfolio includes overseeing graduate medical education across the Lansing Community Campus.
Dr. Pearson earned his MD from Wayne State University School of Medicine (1981) and completed a Family Medicine Faculty Development Fellowship at MSU. He is board certified in Family Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. His professional engagements include service on the AAFP-RPS Panel of Consultants, medical directorship for the Michigan Breast Cancer Three-Day, and roles as team physician for MSU Football and physician for the 1999 U.S. World University Games delegation.
His research and clinical focus integrates sports medicine, residency training innovation, and preventive care. Notable recognitions include dual fellowship status in AAFP and ACSM.
He oversees the Sparrow/MSU Family Medicine Residency Program (1200 E. Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI) and actively contributes to medical education initiatives, including faculty development and accreditation oversight.
