معرفی
Randall S. Johnson is a Professor in the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology at Karolinska Institutet. His research focuses on hypoxia-induced responses, particularly the roles of Hypoxia-Inducible Factors (HIF) in physiological and pathological contexts. His lab uses genetic models to study how HIF isoforms regulate cellular responses to low oxygen levels in cancer, immune function, and metabolic processes.
Research Interests:
- Effects of hypoxia on tumor growth and metastasis
- Regulation of T cell immunity under hypoxic conditions
- Metabolic pathways influenced by HIF in cancer and inflammation
Grants & Awards:
- Swedish Research Council (2023–2026)
- Wallenberg Scholar (2019)
- 2016 Albert Lasker Basic Medical Research Award
Key Collaborations: The Johnson Group collaborates with institutions globally to advance understanding of HIF’s role in immunity and cancer. His team includes researchers like Madara Brice (PhD student) and postdocs such as Brennan Wadsworth.
