Rana Amiri is a Senior Lecturer in Nursing at the University of Sunderland, specializing in CPD and MSc Nursing programs since October 2022. She holds a PhD in Nursing from Mashhad University of Medical Science (2016), focusing on health-seeking behavior among Afghan refugees in Iran. Her career includes roles as a Research Associate (2021), Academic Tutor (AT, 2021–2022), and Visiting Scholar at Northumbria University (2019). She has extensive experience in researching health equity, transcultural caring, cultural intelligence, and ethnography, with a focus on vulnerable groups, refugees, and minority populations. She is a member of Fuse, a research collaboration network.
- Teaching: Module leader for Leadership and Management (HSSM69), teaches Teaching and Learning (HSSM71), and supervises dissertations in MSc/BSc Nursing.
- Research: Expertise in mixed-methods research, including clinical trials and ethnography. Key interests include domestic violence, immigrant health, and healthcare accessibility for marginalized groups.
Professional Experience: Worked with the United Nations on health projects for Afghan refugees, served as a clinical teacher and preceptor in Iran, and led studies on neonatal health at the Neonatal Research Centre.
