Charlotte Gordon is a Lecturer at Northumbria University, specializing in diabetes education and clinical research. She leads the university's diabetes education programs and serves as the NIHR North East and North Cumbria RDN strategic lead for Diabetes, Metabolic, and Endocrinology research. With over 20 years of clinical experience in critical care and nursing, her expertise spans translational therapies, diabetes prevention, and healthcare technology implementation.
Dr. Gordon holds an MClinRes from Newcastle University and is completing her PhD on user experiences of glucose sensing technologies. Her research focuses on diabetes technologies, patient decision-making, and vaccination confidence. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and leads the MSc CPD pathways in Professional Practice in Health.
Her professional engagements include roles in the Royal College of Nursing National Diabetes Steering Group (2019-2023), European PSAD study group, and Fuse (Centre for Translational Research in Public Health). She contributed to the UK's national vaccination program, both as a vaccinator and educator.
