Ran Liu

Ran Liu is an Assistant Professor in Educational Policy Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education. She is affiliated with the Center for East Asian Studies (CEAS), Interdisciplinary Training Program in Education Sciences (ITP), Institute for Diversity Science (IDS), Data Science Institute (DSI), and Center for Research on College-Workforce Transitions (CCWT).

• B.S.Sc. in Sociology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong

Her research examines gender inequality in STEM education, intersectionality in educational and labor markets, and machine learning applications in social science. She also investigates family structures, teacher-student dynamics, and cross-national educational disparities.

Publications reveal trends in gendered educational outcomes, pandemic impacts, machine learning methodology, and East Asian/Latin American comparisons. Her work spans quantitative analysis, survey design, and social policy evaluation.
