Ramon Palau Saumell

Ramon Palau Saumell is a full professor in the Department of Business Management at IQS School of Management, University of Ramon Llull. He serves as Head of the CONHATIVE Group (Consumer Behavior Perspectives) and has held leadership roles including Chair of the Business Management Department (2015-2023) and Coordinator of the PhD program in Business and Regional Competitiveness, Innovation and Sustainability (2022-).

• Education: PhD (2006), Master’s (1997), and Bachelor’s (1987) in Communication and Advertising from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).

His research focuses on consumer behavior, spanning digital finance, streaming technology, gamification, and tourism psychology. Recent projects examine topics like FOMO-driven cryptocurrency investments, loyalty-building through gamified sports apps, and pandemic impacts on local product consumption.

Recent publications (2024) demonstrate interdisciplinary approaches integrating behavioral economics, technology adoption theories, and social sciences. Articles address continuance usage of OTT platforms, investor behavior on crowdfunding systems, and event technology’s role in emotional place attachment.

• Leadership & Collaboration: Coordinates the CONHATIVE research group and collaborates on projects like the human-AI interaction study. Has participated in university governance as member of the Management Board (2019-2023) and Research Commission (2014-2021).
