Ram Raghavan

Dr. Ram Raghavan is an Associate Professor at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, where he specializes in computational epidemiology of vector-borne diseases. His work integrates Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and Bayesian modeling to analyze spatiotemporal dynamics of zoonotic diseases.

His research focuses on geospatial analysis of climate, environment, and socioeconomic factors influencing tick-borne diseases, rabies, leptospirosis, and other zoonoses. He utilizes NASA Earth Observing System datasets and advanced statistical methods to predict disease distribution under climate change scenarios.

Recent studies include tick surveillance in the Midwest, modeling climate-driven shifts in tick ranges, and analyzing winter tick activity patterns. Collaborative projects involve teams at MU, Kansas State University, and international institutions.
