Raluca SANDU is an Associate Professor of finance and accounting at SKEMA Business School, serving as Faculty Dean since October 2024. She has held leadership roles including Associate Dean of the Academy Globalisation (2019-2022) and member of the Executive Committee since 2023. Her academic journey began at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest (2003-2009) before joining SKEMA in 2009. She earned a doctorate in management sciences from Université d'Orléans, France.
Her research focuses on socio-political dimensions of accounting, particularly in transitional economies like Romania. Key areas include accounting history, geopolitics of accounting standards, and critical discourse analysis. She co-leads the Accounting History Thematic Group at the French Accounting Association (AFC) and edited a 2022 special issue on accounting and work in historical contexts.
Her publications span over two decades, addressing topics such as integrated reporting, post-communist accounting reforms, and pedagogical innovations. Notable works include Integrated Thinking for Long-Term Value Creation (2024) and analyses of the pirate Republic of Salé as an alternative organizational model. She has received the Joseph Colleye Prize (2024) and SKEMA's Pedagogical Innovation Prize (2017).
Academic service includes roles on editorial boards (Accounting History), professional associations (APDC, DFCG), and international committees (EFMD leadership program graduate, CEIBS trainer). She has supervised multiple PhD students and contributed to curriculum development across auditing, management control, and international programs.
