Ralph St Clair Wade is an Affiliated Lecturer in the History of Art at the University of Cambridge. He holds a PhD (2022) from St John's College, Cambridge, where he was a Foundation and Graduate Scholar, alongside an MPhil (2018, Distinction) and a BA in History (double first-class honours). His research focuses on 19th-century architecture and its intersection with national identity, social history, and Scottish heritage. He has contributed to leading journals like Architectural History and advised on The Buildings of Scotland (Pevsner series).
Publicly, he has collaborated with UNESCO, lectured at institutions such as the National Gallery and Royal Institute of British Architects, and presented for Bloomberg Connects. His work has been recognized through awards like the Harvard Book Prize and election to the Scottish Society of Antiquaries.
