Dr. Frank Salmon is an Associate Professor of the History of Art at the University of Cambridge, currently on sabbatical during Michaelmas Term 2024. He holds academic qualifications including MA (Cantab. and London), PhD, LittD, and is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries (FSA). A Fellow of St John's College since 2015, he served as its President from 2015 to 2019. He also serves as Director of Studies for History of Art at St John's College and Downing Colleges. His research interests align with the department's focus on Medieval and Renaissance Visual Culture, Modern and Contemporary Art Theory, and Global Art Studies. Professional roles include supervision of MPhil and PhD students in Art History. His academic contributions are reflected through his teaching and leadership in the Cambridge academic community.
