Dr Rahul Tare is a Lecturer in Musculoskeletal Science and Bioengineering at the University of Southampton's Faculty of Medicine. His research focuses on human stem cell biology, skeletal development, and regenerative medicine strategies for cartilage repair. He employs advanced bioreactor technologies and biomaterials to engineer 3D cartilage grafts for osteoarthritis treatment. Tare has supervised 15 PhD students and holds two patents, with over 50 publications and 4000+ citations. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Deputy Programme Director of the MRes in Stem Cells, Development and Regenerative Medicine.
His work bridges stem cell biology, bioengineering, and clinical applications, addressing skeletal diseases like osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
