Rahul Mukherji

Rahul Mukherji is a Professor at the Department of Political Science, South Asia Institute, Heidelberg University. He has held visiting positions at institutions including the University of Goa, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and Fudan University. His research spans Indian politics, political economy, international relations, and climate policy.

Mukherji examines democratic backsliding, climate governance, and political economy of reforms in India. His recent work explores the intersection of COVID-19 and authoritarian trends, alongside state capacity in welfare delivery.
