Prof. Dr. Ragnhild Klußmann is an Acting Professor of Building Theory and Typology at Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences (2022–2025). She is a founding partner of raumwerk.architekten (since 2002), specializing in adaptive reuse, cooperative urban projects, and public welfare architecture. Previously, she held research roles at the University of Wuppertal’s Chair of Urban Planning and Building Theory. Her work focuses on sustainable urban development, mixed-use spaces, and historical architectural reinterpretation. Notable projects include the Bob CAMPUS (2017–2022), converting a textile factory into a mixed-use district hub.
Education: Master’s in Architectural Theory (BU Wuppertal, 2003–2004), Architecture studies at Cologne FH and IUAV Venice (1988–1996). Awards include first prizes in competitions for urban regeneration projects (2021, 2020). She chairs the Living Lab NRW climate-friendly construction platform and sits on boards like the Cologne Design Advisory Board. Key research includes the bergisch.project (2011–2014), exploring urban dynamics in the Bergisch region.
Publications include contributions to Baukultur NRW (2022), bergisch.paper series (2013–2014), and the Urban Transitions symposium (2012). Her lectures address adaptive reuse, sustainable building methods, and urban policy. She actively participates in architectural juries and exhibitions, promoting innovative approaches to urban challenges.
