Ragnhild Elizabeth Aune

Ragnhild Elizabeth Aune is a Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). She specializes in refining and recycling metals, integrating thermodynamics, kinetics, and heat/mass transfer principles. She holds an MSc and PhD in Materials Science from KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm) and a Docent degree in Materials Process Science (Functional Materials).

Her career includes leadership roles as Program Director for MSc programs at NTNU and KTH, driving interdisciplinary research and education over 20 years. She has authored/co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications, secured major grants, and received awards for teaching excellence and research contributions.

Ragnhild E. collaborates with industry to apply academic research in practical settings, particularly in sustainable metallurgical processes, biomedical materials, and recycling technologies. Key projects address global challenges like sustainability and healthcare advancements, though some industrial contributions remain confidential due to proprietary constraints.
