Raghu Krishnamoorthy

Raghu Krishnamoorthy is an Associate Professor at the College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences and Pharmacology & Neuroscience department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. He is also affiliated with the North Texas Eye Research Institute. His research focuses on developing endothelin receptor antagonists as neuroprotective treatments for glaucoma, addressing the unmet need for therapies beyond intraocular pressure reduction.

Education: Completed BS in Chemistry, MS in Biochemistry, and PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Bombay.

Research Interests: Investigates endothelin receptor signaling's role in optic nerve degeneration, mitochondrial dysfunction in retinal ganglion cells, and neuroprotective drug development. Key areas include glaucoma pathophysiology, neurodegenerative mechanisms, and translational therapies.

Grants & Projects: Active and completed projects funded by the National Eye Institute (NEI), including 'Mechanisms underlying endothelin-mediated neurodegeneration in glaucoma' and 'Development of Reconstituted H' (2024-2027).
