Raghavan K. Easwaran is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Physics at Indian Institute of Technology Patna. His research focuses on experimental and theoretical Quantum Optics, particularly on Slow Light generation and Quantum Memory applications using atomic media such as alkali vapors and ultracold atoms. The group is developing an experimental facility for slow light and quantum memory under India's National Quantum Mission, with plans to integrate laser-cooled atoms for enhanced efficiency and collaborate on multi-node quantum repeater systems with IIT Madras. Additional theoretical studies include light pulse propagation in two-dimensional magneto-optical trap (2DMOT) systems under EIT conditions and innovations in THz quantum memory and multi-window EIT via Zeeman effects.
