Rafał Łubowski

Prof. Dr. hab. Rafał Łubowski (born 1974) is a Polish sculptor, visual artist, and art theorist. He currently serves as a professor and heads the Open Interpretations of Art Workshop at the Faculty of Art Education and Curating, Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznań. His work bridges artistic practice with theoretical reflection, focusing on sculpture aesthetics, historical dialogues with artistic traditions (ancient, modern, nineteenth-century), and interdisciplinary practices in contemporary art.

• Education: Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań (1994–2000); Doctorate (2006) and Habilitation (2014) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk.
• Research Focus: Interdisciplinary art practices, critical engagement with historical traditions, digital techniques, and the role of quotation/imitation in contemporary art.
