Rafael Corazza Ronchetti

Rafael Corazza Ronchetti is a Professor of Industrial Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, GA, where he has been teaching since 2019. He previously served as a Professor of Digital Sketching at IAAD Master in Transportation and has held tutoring and teaching roles at SPD under the guidance of senior designers from Lamborghini and SEAT.

His research and professional interests center on industrial and transportation design, with a strong emphasis on automotive exterior and concept development. He specializes in digital and hand sketching, Photoshop applications in car design, and design workflow optimization for presentations.

Rafael has extensive industry experience in high-performance automotive design, having worked with Italdesign/Giugiaro on the ZeroUno Duerta Roadster and contributed to early-phase designs for the Audi R8 2019. He also worked on projects for Lamborghini, Audi, and Volkswagen Group’s Automobil Speciali brand. His academic and design training includes an internship at GM Brazil’s Advanced Design Team, where his concept was realized in a full-scale clay model, and his graduation thesis, the Chevrolet Everest Concept SUV, was showcased at the São Paulo Autoshow 2012.

He has also worked as a freelance designer on interior instrument panels for Real Power Boats and designed an ambulance model based on the Volkswagen T6 for EDM Ambulance. Additionally, he has conducted live digital sketching presentations for Wacom, showcasing Cintiq products.

Rafael has served as an assistant tutor at SPD, teaching hand sketching, digital techniques, and presentation workflows for student projects presented to Lamborghini and Audi. He completed a Car Design Master program at SPD under supervision from Lamborghini and SEAT, with projects including a Countache SUV and a SEAT-based Liebre Off-Roadster.
