Raelene Endersby is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia (UWA), affiliated with the UWA Medical School and UWA Centre for Child Health Research. She leads the Brain Tumour Research Team at Telethon Kids Institute, focusing on improving clinical outcomes for childhood brain cancers. Her work integrates preclinical and clinical research to develop novel therapies, supported by over $11 million in competitive grants from NHMRC, MRFF, and Cancer Australia.
Education: PhD in Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (Curtin University, 2003), Honours in Prostate Cancer Research (Curtin University, 1998), BSc in Molecular Genetics (Curtin University, 1997).
Research Interests: Childhood brain tumours (e.g., medulloblastoma, glioblastoma), immunotherapy, radiation oncology, targeted therapies, and preclinical mouse models. She collaborates internationally on clinical trial design and chairs committees like the Australian Brain Cancer Mission Evaluation Advisory Panel.
Grants & Awards: 19 funded projects including 'Developing More Effective Treatments for Rare Brain Cancers in Infants' (MRFF, 2026–2028). Recognized with awards such as the Most Innovative Research Award (2022) and The Engage and Inspire Award (2015).
Community Engagement: Established the Telethon Kids Institute Cancer Centre Consumer Reference Group. Promotes cancer awareness through lab tours, donor meetings, and social media. Supervises 3 PhD students, 6 postdocs, and mentors early-career researchers.
