Brittany Dewdney is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia (UWA) Medical School, affiliated with the UWA Centre for Child Health Research and The Kids Research Institute Australia (Telethon Kids Institute). She holds a PhD from James Cook University (2021) and a Master of Biomedical Science (2016), alongside a Bachelor of Science from Western University (2014). Her research focuses on brain and liver cancers, metabolism, and targeted therapy development, with expertise in cancer biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry.
Recent work includes studies on glioblastoma treatment strategies, including ion channel modulators and DNA damage response inhibitors, as well as fructose’s role in hepatocellular carcinoma. She leads a BrightSpark Foundation-funded project investigating brain wound healing and immune responses in pediatric brain cancer patients. Her collaborative research spans oncology, neuroscience, and metabolic pathways, contributing to global health goals in cancer treatment and prevention.
