Radosław Wolny serves as a Lecturer at the Department of Mechanics of Materials and Structures, Gdańsk University of Technology, conducting research at the intersection of biomechanics and materials engineering.
His research focuses on:
- Experimental biomechanics of spinal tissues (dura mater and ligaments) under dynamic/quasi-static loading
- Development of polymer composites (PMMA-sand) for biomedical applications
- Road safety engineering, particularly barrier-lighting column interactions during collisions
Recent publications (2022-2025) reveal consistent experimental methodology across spinal biomechanics and materials science, with significant contributions to understanding rate-dependent tissue properties and composite material optimization. His work bridges fundamental mechanical testing with practical applications in trauma prevention and infrastructure safety.
He actively participates in the OPUS-funded project "Modeling of failure of the human cervical spine in the course of the car collision with the road barrier" (agreement UMO-2020/37/B/ST8/03231), collaborating under Prof. Krzysztof Wilde's leadership since 2021.
