Dr. Radha Kapuria is an Associate Professor in South Asian History at the University of Durham's Department of History. Her research examines gender, migration, and cultural expression in South Asia, with special focus on music traditions and Partition's legacy. She holds a PhD from King's College London, an MPhil from Jawaharlal Nehru University, and BA/MA degrees from Delhi University.
Her interdisciplinary work spans borderlands studies, ethnomusicology, environmental history, and performance theory. She investigates how cultural practices like Punjabi folk music intersect with political upheavals, ecological contexts, and diasporic identities. Her publications demonstrate consistent focus on post-Partition cultural memory, gender dynamics in historical performance spaces, and community-based musical traditions.
