Dr. Shalini Sharma is a Senior Lecturer in Modern History at Keele University's School of Humanities. She holds a PhD from SOAS, University of London (2005), and has held academic roles since 1999, including at the London School of Economics. Her research focuses on South Asian colonial and postcolonial history, decolonization, and radical politics. She currently leads the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science's Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives and co-leads the 'Decolonising the Curriculum Group.'

She has received awards like the Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (2019).
Administratively, she has served as Director of Postgraduate Studies and chairs equality initiatives. Outreach efforts include public lectures on decolonizing curricula and Hindu nationalism's impact on Indian history.
