Dr Rachel Yuen-Collingridge is a Visiting Fellow at the Humanities Research Centre (HRC) at Australian National University (ANU) and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Macquarie University's Department of Ancient History. She has taught at Macquarie University, UNSW, University of New England, and as a guest lecturer at ANU.
- Education: PhD in Historical Lexicology (Macquarie University), focusing on Herodotus' use of terms like philosophein and sophistes.
Her research spans papyrology, early Christianity, and the history of ancient history as a discipline. Key projects include re-edition of the Greek Magical Papyri, analysis of papyrus forgeries, and investigations into scribal practices, canonicity, and administrative professionalism in pre-typographic societies. She integrates interdisciplinary approaches to memory, cognition, and intersubjectivity in antiquity.
Rachel co-leads the Markers of Authenticity seminar series at Macquarie University and is a founding member of the Society for Australasian Women in Ancient World Studies. Her work has been supported by ARC-funded projects.
