Bernhard Palme is a full professor of Ancient History and Papyrology at the University of Vienna since 2004 and serves as Director of the Papyrus Department and the Papyrus Museum of the Austrian National Library since 2009. His work focuses on the history and culture of Graeco-Roman Egypt, historical analysis of documentary sources, and social/economic/legal history of the Later Roman Empire.
