Rachel White is a Principal Lecturer in Ecology and Conservation at the University of Brighton, affiliated with the School of Applied Sciences and the Centre for Environment and Society. She holds a PhD in Biodiversity Management from the University of Kent (2014), an MSc in Conservation Science from Imperial College London (2009), and a BSc in Zoology from Durham University (2008). Her research focuses on avian ecology, conservation biology, and human-nature interactions, with a particular emphasis on urban ecology, citizen science, and extinction risk assessment. She promotes conservation optimism, evidence-based practices, and science communication through teaching and public engagement.
