Rachel Wallace is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of History at Loyola University New Orleans. She is also a Research Fellow at the Southern Food and Beverage Museum in New Orleans and contributes to the Women’s Studies Committee.
Education:

- MA in Modern American History (2013)
- BA in Modern History and Literature (2012)
Rachel specializes in LGBTQ+ history, gender history, and oral history, with a focus on transnational perspectives between the U.S. and Europe during the 20th century. Her work bridges public history and social movements, particularly in the 1960s–1970s.
Rachel’s recent publications explore topics like gay communities in Northern Ireland during The Troubles, gendered violence in British popular culture, and the cultural symbolism of New Orleans traditions. Her research integrates transnational and cultural studies methodologies.
