Rachel Terry

Dr Rachel Terry serves as Admissions Director and Academic Sessional at Canterbury Christ Church University's School of Psychology and Life Sciences, where she leads the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology program through the Salomons Institute for Applied Psychology. Appointed as Clinical and Academic Tutor in 2014 and promoted to Admissions Director in 2021, she oversees trainee selection, delivers teaching, and provides doctoral research supervision.

Her educational background includes clinical psychology qualification in 2006 and a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT for psychosis in 2009. She maintains active registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and holds membership in the Division of Clinical Psychology and British Psychological Society.

Dr Terry's research focuses on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy applications, Offender Mental Health rehabilitation pathways, Psychosis treatment frameworks, and Professional Boundaries in clinical practice. Current initiatives prioritize expanding access to clinical psychology training for underrepresented demographic groups within the profession.

Her advisory role encompasses comprehensive supervision of trainees' doctoral research projects and individualized 1:1 progression support throughout the clinical training curriculum. Prior to academia, she practiced as a clinical psychologist in NHS forensic mental health units and acute inpatient psychiatric wards.
