Rachel Shepherd

Rachel Shepherd is a Lecturer in Fashion Design (Digital Specialism) and Faculty Placement Co-ordinator at Manchester Fashion Institute, Manchester Metropolitan University. With over 25 years of apparel industry experience across design, product development and garment technology, she specializes in sportswear and workwear for both menswear and womenswear.

Her teaching focuses on developing digital design skills essential for contemporary fashion careers. She employs experiential learning methods to nurture responsible, professional designers while promoting inclusive education environments. Research interests include digital tools for fashion education and industry-academia collaboration for graduate employability.
