Rachel Samiani

Rachel Samiani is a Lecturer in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Binghamton University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts (2009) and Master of Arts (2015) in Italian from the same institution, where she began her academic career as a teaching assistant before transitioning to full-time faculty.

Samiani’s research focuses on linguistic and cultural diversity in Italy, with a pedagogical emphasis on language acquisition and cultural immersion. She teaches courses such as ITAL 115: Elementary Level 2, ITAL 251: Culture and Composition, and ITAL 311: Food, Culture, and Conversation, integrating experiential learning through community engagement initiatives.

Her professional experience includes coordinating Community Engaged Learning courses and serving as Faculty in Residence for a campus Romance Language Learning Community. She has also contributed to SUNY study abroad and internship programs within her department.
