Rachel Love is an Assistant Professor of Classics at Harvard University's Department of the Classics, located in Boylston Hall. She holds a B.A. from Tulane University (2013) and a Ph.D. from Yale University (2019). Her research focuses on Imperial Latin prose, particularly historiography and epitome, examining how Republican literary forms influenced Roman Empire-era literature.

Her current book project, Writing after Livy, examines Latin historiographical epitomes as creative works integral to Roman historiography. Ongoing research includes studies on ancient Gauls/Celts in classical texts and the ethics of classical reading practices. She teaches advanced Latin prose courses and general education classes on classical mythology and the concept of canonicity.
Future work includes a monograph re-examining foundational Roman historiographers and the 18th/19th-century origins of Classics as a field. Office hours are available via Calendly.
