Rachel Kraus is a Professor of Sociology at Ball State University's Department of Sociology, part of the College of Sciences & Humanities. She joined the faculty in 2005, following a Ph.D. from Purdue University and an MPA from the University of South Carolina-Columbia. Her research focuses on female-dominated leisure subcultures, spirituality, and gender identity, notably through a case study of belly dancing in the U.S. She teaches courses on religion, gender, research methods, and social psychology.
